Dry Skin CareDo you get depressed every time after you wash your face? Does your skin feel awkwardly tight as if someone is stretching it? Does it appear chapped or flaky? Or for that matter simply dull? Well, if this is the depressing tale of your life then this is what you need to know. Like millions of your fellow humans you have “dry skin”! This simply means that you are not blessed with a skin you can afford to neglect. Your skin is deficient in sebum and likely to be very sensitive and fails to hold the moisture. It is therefore extremely important for you to keep supplying your skin continuously with external moisturizing through creams or lotions. Ignoring dry skin might prove pretty expensive for you as it results in cracked skin. And friends never forget that wind, you’re air conditioning, or for that matter very high or low temperatures are absolute enemies of yours!! So avoid them as much as you can unless you don’t mind having dull and flaky skin with thin lines of depression near your eyes or lips! So, if you have grown worried after reading these facts and want to know why you have dry skin or that how you might control it then just read on... The pollution around you is very damaging for your naturally disadvantaged skin. Weather conditions especially during winter when you’re skin encounters harmful elements of the air around are equally aggravating. Harsh detergent soaps are strictly to be avoided. Under-active oil glands or thyroid glands or physical conditions like psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, seborrhea or diabetes can also be the cause of this condition of dry skin that you are encountering. Drugs like antispasmodics, antihistamines, diuretics, etc. may also be the reason. Having said all these it must also be mentioned that dry skin in many people are a genetical problem, this of course is a fact that many of us are unaware of. Inadequacy of vitamin A and vitamin B also leads to dry skin, so have plenty of these vitamin rich foods. Apart from diet you should also keep in mind not to use the water from your tap, use mineral water instead. Try spraying mineral water onto your face especially in the morning; follow it by very gently patting it dry. But make sure the sprayer is not the one you’ve used for spraying insecticide!! And also avoid hot water for your skin, its a must!! Your skin demands plenty of cleansing true but with mild, detergent free products. Soaps high in alkaline content must be avoided. For this purpose products made at home are the best. You can also try using products made for the skin of babies. Pamper your skin well with such an oil and then take your bath. But be careful while handling your skin; don’t use coarse material for washing the face as it might aggravate the condition. Never ignore the fact that your skin is very sensitive around your eyes and lips. Always remember that your skin demands external moisturizing as it lacks it naturally. For getting beautiful skin that remains soft and shiny all day long you need to take the pain of continuously moisturize your skin, because “NO PAIN NO GAIN!!” |
